“What’s for dinner?” is the question that unites us all come 5pm.
Fresh inspiration is notoriously shifty. It’s the friend you love, but can never count on until they are literally at the door.
Inspiration is too lazy to come my way (hates traffic, parallel parking, etc. Sounds like me). So I go to it.
Inspiration tip: Rip off the change of season.
Every season comes with colors, flavors, and feels that are new, cohesive, and relevant. They just “hit”.
I want my cooking to be a hit. I want my life to hit.
So I illustrated a seasonal calendar for ever-dynamic kitchen art. I’ll switch it out come a new season. Want one for yours?
This is the summer version. We’ll keep your space looking fresh with a refreshed Fall print come the end of August. Stay tuned!
The recipe below came straight off of this print— sweet cherries, bright tomatoes, ever-sunny basil, and crunchy pistachios hold hands to create a summertime party in your mouth.
Now it’s your turn to make something seasonal.

Basil & Cherry Summer Salad with Roasted Cashews
Serves: 4
This is one of those meals for the hottest months when cooking ambition is low. Maximize leftover potential by keeping the pistachios, spinach, tomatoes, and feta separate and adding to individual servings. Do wait for the quinoa to cool before adding it to the other ingredients so everything stays crisp and fresh. If you are tight on time, spread the cooked quinoa out on a sheet pan and place
it in the fridge.
